Let’s Scrapbook Summer Stories!

It’s the end of July here in NYC- and while school is still a month away, and while I am working hard to keep the laid back vibe going in our house, behind the scenes I am making a bucket list of things to do to make sure this summer is full of a few good stories for our family.

This year is not one full of big trip stories, but little ones. I don’t think these boys know how much planning goes into being “spontaneous” around here… This morning I am making lists, and lists for lists of things I want to do before we go back to school, things that need to be done to prepare for school and sadly, things that need to be done those first weeks of school. But the boys don’t need to know that. They just need to know that this week we will go to the beach, go to the museum and have a BBQ-  keeping it simple and in the moment is my little way of making sure they get to enjoy every moment of summer.

But the ticking clock had me thinking about the stories I would like to tell of this summer- and that worked it’s way onto the drawing board. The sunset tones speak of knowing the story is coming to a close but- the happy vibe shouts out- there’s still fun to be had!

SUMMER STORIES is NEW in the shop this weekend- I packed it full of  handrawn pretties and meaningful Word Art designed to prompt your storytelling of the season. I think the biplanes and colored clouds may be some of my favorite pretties! Here’s a closer look at the design and how it’s been used –

I’d love to see your summertime stories! If you post on Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook, be sure to tag me with #joycreated! 🙂

what joy will you create today?

Is It Too Late For December Daily?

It’s December 7th- one week into Christmas, the tree is up, the house decorated- but somehow I feel as if I am terribly behind this whole game! How can this be?  As a little one, I remember it took forever for Christmas to come- and now- I feel as if it’s a blink and two […]

New in the Shop | COMFORT & JOY

December! It’s the start of lots of great stories- and I  hope you get to make and share as many as your heart can hold! I wanted to kick off the Christmas season with a break from the traditional red and green we wrap our Holiday stories in, and use a warmer, cozier color option for you- […]

New in the Shop | WILD LIFE

Hi guys!  Fall is in full swing- and we are getting all the outdoor fun in that we can before the big chill of winter sets down on us!  Sometimes we pack up and go hiking in a nearby state park- but sometimes, the Call of the Wild is as close as out own backyard! It’s […]

A PUNNY Halloween!

Even though I do adore a good scare and will always visit a Haunted House this time of year, I’m not one for creepy scary bloody costumes and decorations.  I’m more of a fun- Charlie Brown- Jack Skelington kind of gal.  And a good pun? Halloween is a perfect time to get candy-corny! LOL!  That […]

It’s the GREAT HALLOWEEN SALE at ForeverJoy!

Hi guys! Halloween is in the air and man! I am so excited for it!  I’d like to say I have an uber cool party to go to and a wicked sexy digi girl costume to wear- but- nope.  We are doing a little Trick or Treating with my 10 year old- and then coming back […]

Shiplap Lovers Unite!

It’s no secret that if it’s in my heart, it will find a way onto my drawing board. And that’s the simple back story on my newest design, Shiplap Style.  I love the modern- farmhouse style of Magnolia Designs by Joanna Gaines- clean, crisp, a little funky and lots of sentiment, and wanted to bring […]
