Layout Lookback | October

It is almost time to turn the page on October and welcome a new month! Each month it seems like there is a trend of what joy we put in focus.  October was a month of family moments, days on the game field,  celebrations- and of course, Halloween! Here are a few layouts I wanted to be sure to give a shout out to and share with you

The JOY of celebrations– telling the story of a BIG day is can be don on so many levels.  You can focus on the little details like CT member Karen described in here post Big Events -Little Details or you can simply let the photos speak for themselves. The sheer joy of the day comes through- and that’s a feeling you get to rewind and replay each time you see your layout. Here are a few great examples of this method in the gallery this month:

October also seemed to be a month where we shared the joys of the simple little things in our lives- it was a month of focusing a little more on the indoorsy life.

And- without a doubt- the simple silly joy of Halloween could be found everywhere this month!! Sweet costumes on our kids and our pets –  and the real  life terror of life with teens! All of these make for fun layouts and stories that beg to be told this month for sure!

Here’s hoping your October brought you plenty of joy to craft! I can’t wait to see what November brings for us all!

what joy will you create today?

After the holidays where we give so much of ourselves to others, January gives us a welcome chance to look inward and see how we can refill our own buckets.  It’s also the time of year at the Lilypad when we host a “Month of Challenges”  where each day a different memory keeping challenge is […]

Jump start your layouts | looking backwards

It’s been said that photographs are a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone. I love that thought. Because, if we can return to a time- then it’s never really lost is it? Not to us, or to anyone who can see and read and feel what that image means to us. We can tell […]

Simplifying December with Traveler’s Notebooks

Especially this time of year, when there are so many stories to be captured- I wanted to make it a point to scrap more often- to tell more stories- but in a simpler way. I love Project Life- and I am a big fan of mini books. It’s only natural then that my attention has […]

Crafting a Joyful Thanksgiving

I recently read a terrific article about the joy of anticipation.  It brought to mind a wisdom I try to live by- the joy of the ride is just as important as the thrill of the destination. It struck me that this month, November, is a journey and a destination all wrapped in one beautiful, […]

Stroll down CHESTNUT LANE

Halloween is behind us- and there is no doubt the the Holiday season is in the air.  But if you have been following me for awhile- you know I am one who likes to slow it down a little and enjoy the autumn goodness that November has to offer.  The cozy at home vibes inside […]
